Footwear brand Sorel has announced that it is launching its first ever spring collection of sneakers for the 2011 season. The new collection will be on display at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market exhibition in Salt Lake City (August 3–6).

Unlike other major footwear brands, Sorel, part of the Columbia Sportswear group, has used full-grain leather extensively in the new collection.

“Sorel is known for being a rugged winter boot,” the company said on announcing the spring collection, “but we now also have vintage-inspired sneakers with hints of the boot heritage such as full-grain leather and contrast stitching.”
