Guangdong behind Beijing women’s shoe sales

A new survey shows Guangdong shoemakers are playing an important part in the sale of ladies’ footwear in Beijing.

The study, which took data from Beijing’s ten largest shopping malls and department stores, showed that shoes from Guangdong province accounted for the largest share of women’s shoe sales (42%), followed by Shenzhen (16%) and Jiangsu (9%). The survey included 77 ladies’ footwear brands.

The largest market share in terms of foreign brands was taken by Italy (48%), with French brands in second place (19%). Third place was held jointly by Germany and Spain (9% each).
