Award given for ‘air-conditioned’ shoe
Chinese shoe company Wenzhou Jierda has been awarded the top Duan Zhenji technological innovation prize for its highly functional, ‘air-conditioned’ shoes.
The award-winning shoe reportedly has an inbuilt air-circulating device to keep feet cool and ventilated and to reduce foot odour. A company spokesperson said the shoe was in development for 10 years and contains 28 patented components.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Guangzhou city on June 1. The prize is designed to recognise outstanding innovation within the Chinese leather and footwear industry.
