According to reports, the $150 million, 1.9 million square-foot centre is the company's largest and most technologically advanced distribution facility in the world. It will employ more than 1,500 people.
The new complex contains two large distribution buildings stocking more than 15 million units of apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories. A service centre will process more than two million orders and answer more than 300,000 customer service calls annually.
"At the adidas Group, we're passionate about performance. In order to get something right you have to create the conditions for it. That's what we're trying to do here in Spartanburg," said Glen Bennett, head of global operations for the group.
