A delegation of Italian experts on the tanning and footwear production sectors visited the Peruvian city of Trujillo from May 4–7 to view the proposals for a new leather sector industrial park in the city and to advise industry leaders and the local authorities on the best way to bring their plans for the site to fruition.
Two members of the party, Rossella Evangelisti, director of the Italian Institute for Overseas Trade, and Carlo Milone, director of the International Polytechnic for Industrial and Economical Development, spoke at a seminar organised by the mayor of El Porvenir, where the proposed industrial park will be.
The seminar, entitled Italian Technology for the Development of a Sustainable Tannery, focused on the need for the new installations at El Porvenir to have the cleanest technology and the most advanced environmental management possible.
