Sports brand adidas has announced a multi-year partnership with Clemson University All-American running back CJ Spiller. Described as one of the most explosive and dominant players in college football, CJ Spiller is expected to be the first running back selected in the new NFL draft (in which the professional teams select the best college athletes for next season) on April 22.

He will feature in a new campaign that adidas will launch to try to make more of a name for itself in American football, for which it offers apparel and footwear. He joins the adidas NFL roster which includes Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, Mario Williams of the Houston Texans, Lawrence Timmons of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Adam Carriker of the Saint Louis Rams.

“I’m excited to be with adidas because they are committed to making the lightest gear that will make me even faster,” said CJ Spiller. “With adidas I have a great opportunity to take my game to the next level and make my mark in the NFL next season.”

For his part, the head of performance sport for adidas America, David Baxter, said: “CJ had an incredible college career and his accomplishments at Clemson make him one of the top prospects for the upcoming draft. We look forward to working side by side with him to create products that will help make him faster.”
