Tata sets up shoe factory with Bangladeshi firm
Indian footwear company Tata International has joined forces with Bangladeshi partner Nitol-Niloy Group to set up a new footwear factory in Bangladesh.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by Tata’s executive director, Mr O Kaul, and Nitol-Niloy's chairman, Abdul Ahmad, on April 11.
The new factory will have the capacity to produce 5,000 pair of shoes a day. Footwear created at the site will be exported to Europe and North America.
