New rock-climbing compounds from Vibram

The company said on making the announcement that it had sought to provide the best possible grip on various types of rock and holds. Laboratory and field tests, as well as feedback from some of the world’s top climbers, have confirmed the high performance of the new XS GRIP2 and XS EDGE compounds, Vibram said.
The said it believes the XS GRIP2 compound would be particularly suitable for climbers for whom grip is more important than edging capability. Whereas, with the XS EDGE compound, it’s the other way round. XS EDGE enables climbers to place maximum weight on the smallest holds.
Important brands in the specialist rock climbing footwear segment, including La Sportiva and Scarpa, are already using these compounds. La Sportiva has launched Katana laces, with Vibram XS EDGE, a lace-up version of the already popular Katana model.
