New winter trail products at Vibram
Italy-based sole specialist Vibram has launched several new winter outdoor products for 2010-11.
New winter trail products include the Saucony Razor, a waterproof shoe for trail running and multisport and the Vibram Progrid Xodus, a trail running shoe developed by Vibram for Saucony.
The Saucony Razor offers traction, protection and support with its built-in gaiter, the eVent fabric zip-up bootie, and its Progrid Xodus lightweight sole. The shoe recently won the Red Dot design award from Design Zentrum Nordhein Westfalen.
The Vibram Progrid Xodus shoe uses the company’s Multitrek TC1 compound. According to the sole provider it is supple enough to grip on smooth rock or pavement and firm enough to bite into soil and extend on-road durability.
Broad lugs around its periphery offer stability, comfort and durability, while wedge-shaped lugs in the forefoot assist during uphill thrust and downhill braking. Lugs in the forefoot and heel offer lateral security for off-camber trails.
