Designer Payless labels prominent at NY Fashion Week

15/02/2010

Special collections made for Payless ShoeSource by prominent fashion designers Christian Siriano and Lela Rose will be on show at New York Fashion Week (February 11-18).

Christian Siriano's shoes are inspired by antique furniture from the 18th and 19th century with its filigree and claw foot detailing. A focal design in the runway collection is the Rocaille style, a platform pump featuring a signature heel reminiscent of a claw foot. It features various croc and python patent, oversized ruffles and gold filigree detailing on platform pumps and boots.

The Lela Rose shoe collection features a ‘Satellite’ print fabric, which uses Hubble telescope imagery of the moon as seen from the earth and the earth as seen from the moon to offer a sprayed graphical look. The fabric appears in shades of blue and black with scattered crystals in keeping with the celestial theme. One central model is the Whitson, an ankle bootie featuring a sculpted curved wedge heel, peep-toe and an upper in coloured suede with cut-out detail on the vamp inspired by craggy surfaces of the Galapagos Islands and moon rocks. The collection features high heels and booties with hidden platform soles in a variety of coloured suede and wool fabrics.

"We are committed to democratising fashion in footwear and that means making the latest runway looks available too. Each season our designer labels embody high-fashion style and design, but at affordable prices for all to enjoy," said LuAnn Via, CEO and president of Payless ShoeSource. "Our designer partners create these lines to complement their ready-to-wear collections and the resulting pieces represent each designer's truly unique and distinctive style stamp. We are thrilled to be with our guest designers again at the nation's premier fashion event and to debut their latest shoe and handbag creations."
