Ferragamo opens in Egypt

High-end fashion footwear brand Salvatore Ferragamo has opened its first own-brand store in Egypt.
The company has set up a store in the First Mall in Cairo to sell its men's and women's ranges of footwear, bags and accessories. It carried out the new development with a local partner, Nile Projects.
The company's chief executive, Michele Norsa, said on announcing the new store: "The market in North Africa is starting to become very interesting and strategic for the luxury sector. We are weighing up new opportunities across Africa and have already agreed to open a new flagship store in South Africa before the end of 2010."
