Louboutin in new Middle East joint venture

High-end footwear brand Christian Louboutin has signed an agreement with Dubai-based distributor The Chalhoub Group to grow sales of its shoes in the Middle East.
One of the first developments unded the joint venture agreement will be the opening of a new Louboutin boutique in the Al Khayyat shopping mall in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The new store will be entirely managed by a local partner called The Farouk Trading and Contracting Company.
Commenting on the deal, the general manager of Christian Louboutin, Alexis Mourot, said: "The Middle East region is very strategic for us: an important part of our existing customers are from the region. It took us a long time to find the right partner, [one that] shares the same values. We are very glad to partner with The Chalhoub Group, which has such a great retail expertise in the Middle-East."
