Customs boost for footwear manufacturers

The customs authorities in the Chinese province of Fujian have included 16 footwear manufacturers, including Peak and Baofeng, on a list they have published of exporters who will receive preferential treatment owing to the level of external trade they carry out.

Goods sent for export by the companies selected will be given priority by inspectors, making the process of shipping them to overseas customers faster and easier.

Peak vice-president Dai Jianhui said that the new initiative could make his company’s shipping times several days shorter; he said customs clearance in Fujian has improved greatly as a result.
