Paris-based fashion house Balenciaga is reported to have filed a lawsuit against New York-based footwear brand Steve Madden, according to New York Magazine.

Balenciaga’s complaint is reported to centre on a multi-coloured Lego heels design, which formed part of the Balenciaga autumn-winter 2007–2008 collection, and allegedly appeared in a Steve Madden colletion the following year.

The company named after iconic Basque designer Cristóbal Balenciaga claims that Steve Madden “intentionally copied” its idea.
