Online shoe retailer Sarenza targets UK market
France-based online shoe retailer Sarenza is to launch in the UK.
The company was established in 2005 and has seen turnover rise from €8.7 million in 2007 to a projected €40 million in 2009. It offers shoes from 250 brands including Converse, Hush Puppies and Ugg.
Stéphane Treppoz, CEO of Sarenza, said: “We are excited about continuing our expansion into the UK, as it is one of the most advanced European markets in terms of online retail with 57% of UK consumers having bought a product online in 2008 compared to 53% in Germany and 40% in France (Eurostat). For this reason we see it as a prime opportunity for us to continue our rapid growth in the European online shoe retail market.”
The company has recruited marketing firm Latitude to help with brand promotion and marketing.
“As a pure play online retailer, search and affiliate marketing are very important tools for growing our business in the UK,” Mr Treppoz said. “We chose Latitude as our digital marketing partner for these channels because of the agency’s extensive experience in the online retail sector, and the strength of their native speaking French search team.”
