‘Made in Italy’ event opens on Madison Avenue
A new event called ‘Made in Italy on Madison’ opened in New York last week and will run until December 22.
According to organisers, the event will “transform” Madison Avenue, making it into a kind of "Italian Mile" to celebrate Made in Italy goods. Thirty fashion brands are presenting their latest collections during the campaign with the help of ICE, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, and the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District. Brands showcasing leathergoods and shoes include Galo Shoes, Roberto Cavalli, Santoni, Geox, Giuseppe Zanotti, Gucci, Loro Piana, Marina Rinaldi, Giorgio Armani, Tramontano, Pratesi, Claudia Ciuti and Cesare Paciotti.
"The American market," says Aniello Musella, director of ICE in New York, "has always been the most important for Italian fashion and is strategically important for the revitalisation of the entire fashion system. Hence the need to invest extraordinary resources and encourage the participation of the most prestigious players.”
