New footwear factory opens in Turkey
Turkish shoe exporter Hangar Footwear has decided to open a new production plant in Corum in the central Black Sea Region.
Board director Alparslan Selcuk explains the vision for the new unit: "We'll soon start production at Corum a new factory complex. We are going to employ 2,000 people with 1,000 machines for production. Our range of production will cover all types of shoes, for example ladies’, men’s, children’s, casual and sports shoes.”
Mr Selcuk points out that the company has been growing and developing extensively of late. “Recently, we completed a new factory at Isparta which is also our headquarters,” he said. “We also established our R&D department with 15 expert staff for the creation of our fashion, models and for innovative developments.
“With the new factory our total capacity will reach seven million pairs annually; this capacity is the highest available in Turkey. We expect to become an important exporter and a respected company in Europe."
