Leathergoods boost Bangladesh export figures

                    The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh has reported that leather sector exports fell by 13.4% to $105.5 million in the period between July and September 2009. The figure for the same period last year was $121.8 million.
Exports of leather footwear over the period had a value $56.2 million from $57.9 million the year before, a decrease of 2.95%. Finished leather exports were down in value by 24.5% to $45.5 million from $60.2 million. However, there was better news in the figures for leathergoods exports, which showed a rise of 5.6% to $3.8 million from $3.6 million in same period last year.
