REACH workshop for Spanish industry

The Miguel Hernández university in Elche has organised a one-day workshop for the Spanish footwear industry on the subject of REACH.
The event will take place at the university on November 13 and will aim to inform footwear producers in Spain about REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), the European Union's new legislation on the production and use of chemical substances. Phased implementation of the regulations began in June 2007 and will continue until 2017.
The Elche workshop will include talks on what the legislation means, on how footwear manufacturers are being affected and on the value of being able to demonstrate compliance.
