Kustom to hold surfing competition again

Specialist footwear brand Kustom has relaunched a competition in which it is offering a prize of $50,000 to the surfer who carries out the most spectacular “air” move between January 1 and August 31 2010.
An air is a manoeuvre in which surfers are able to propel themselves off the wave and re-enter it. Kustom ran a similar competition last year when Hawaiian teenager Dusty Payne took the prize.
The footwear brand’s general manager, Harry Truscott, said on making the new announcement: “It's on again and this time we expect everyone to go nuts.”
California-based Kustom specialises in surfing footwear, with products such as flip-flops, deck shoes, sandals and boots.
