Good turnout expected at DILF
Around 300 manufacturers and exporters are expected to appear at Delhi International Leather Fair 2009 (DILF), which runs October 23-25.
Products on display will include finished leather, shoes and sandals, shoe components, leather garments, fashion accessories, small leathergoods, travel bags, machinery and equipment and chemicals.
India’s $6 billion leather industry provides almost 2.5 million jobs, 30% of which are held by women. According to the show organisers, the Indian leather industry has experienced “substantial growth” in recent years and is emerging as a “major global player” for finished quality leather products.
