Netherlands-based leather chemicals provider Stahl has launched a new wax filler, EX-FI-13-547. According to the company it can be used for a wide range of leathers, giving them a heavy/dark pull-up effect. It works particularly well for shoe upper leathers.

Containing almost 100% solids, the milky white, opaque wax maintains waterproofness in finishes and does not have a strong odour.

Because it is a high melting point wax, it flows out well with high temperature plating and can be used either alone or blended with other oils or waxes depending on individual requirements. It should be preheated to 75°C and can be applied using either padding or a roller heated to 65–80°C.
