Positive vibe at MOC Munich

According to Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association (ANCI), its MOC event in Munich (October 9-11) was a success

Attendance was high at the three-day event, which focused on medium-high and high-end footwear for spring-summer 2010.

ANCI recorded 2,751 visitors, most of whom travelled from
Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Exhibitor numbers totalled 221, including almost 100 Italian shoe firms.

“We’re pleased,” says Vito Artioli, president of ANCI, “because, even in a period of economic difficulty, businesses and organisations have kept faith with us. It’s given us a very clear message: our entrepreneurs need to receive positive signs, and the presence of these visitors, and above all, the good level of orders registered over these three days in Germany are surely that.”

He continues: “The results of this event, which has just closed, bear witness to the fact that after a difficult period, Italian shoe-making is continuing to look to the future. The strategy of investing in international markets is one that we are determined to pursue so as to help accelerate the economic upturn, and we are certain that the fair in Munich plays a major part in this. The turnout, both by companies and visitors, will encourage us to further increase our presence in this area.”
