Spanish footwear technology institute INESCOP will exhibit several of its latest innovations in 3D footwear computer-aided design and footwear customisation at the SIMAC exhibition in Bologna, which runs from October 13-15.
The technology on display will include a new 3D laser digitiser that allows users to capture solid object geometry by means of point capture along the object surface. The capture system is based on eight high-precision digital cameras that, together, are able to create a 3D image of a foot.
This equipment is fully compatible with the latest design software so as to enable foot-last comparisons. In other words, the software is able to match a digital foot with a company’s last stock so as to find out the best fitting last and shoe. It is even possible to design a specific last for each foot.
