Italian footwear firms head for Munich

Italian footwear manufacturers will make up 100 of he 220 exhibitors at the Moda Made In Italy fair in Munich from October 9–11.
The Italian Footwear Manufacturer’s Association (ANCI), organiser of the event, has said it particularly targets footwear buyers in central and southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland, who at past editions have shown “increasing interest for the excellence in footwear made in Italy”.
It described the leather footwear on show as being in the medium-high bracket.
ANCI president, Vito Artioli, said: “In addition to emerging markets, ANCI is working intensely to strengthen the perception of footwear made in Italy on already consolidated markets like Europe, in particular Germany. Moda Made In Italy is therefore a strategic opportunity for promoting Italian excellence, above all with new generations, an interesting market bracket to be won over, not yet fully sensitive to the quality and manufacturing attention inherent in Italian footwear.”
