BASF puts BDO price up

29/09/2009

BASF has announced that, with effect from October 1, 2009, or as existing contracts permit, it will increase its European selling prices for a number of products.

Included in the list is 1,4 Butanediol (BDO), used in the manufacture of some types of plastics, elastic fibers and polyurethanes.

BASF said it was taking this step because margins on the products involved were “unsatisfactory”, making a price-rise necessary to allow it to continue to offer quality products and services to its customers.
