Global footwear market to grow by 30% by 2013

                    London-based market information publisher Datamonitor has launched a new market report called Footwear: Extended Global Industry Guide.
Among its key findings, the 677-page report says the global footwear market grew by 4.1% in 2008 to reach a value of $208.4 billion.
In 2013, it says the global footwear market is forecast to have a value of $272.5 billion, an increase of 30.7% since 2008.
The volume of the market in 2008, covering all types of shoes for men, women and children, was 11.6 billion pairs.
In 2013, the market is forecast to have a volume of 15.1 billion pairs, an increase of 30.2% since 2008.
It also says Europe is the largest footwear market, accounting for 42.3% of the global value.
