Clariant aims to meet demand for burnished leather

The specialty leather chemicals provider says its customers are looking for an easy and intensive burnishing effect and, at the same time, a natural feel and look.

The company says its Melio 06-F-88, a special wax for burnish effects, is developed to meet up-to-date requirements stemming from this market trend. In combination with Melio Wax 186, a wide variety of burnishing and polishing effects can be generated, it claims, from very dark with a waxy touch to elegant transparent looks with a smooth surface feel.

Clariant says Melio 06-F-88, an aqueous mix, has “an excellent burnish effect with high gloss and waxy touch, excellent filling power, and a pleasant feel”. It says the product is also “very polishable” and offers a wide range of effects in combination with its Melio Wax 186 product.
