Spanish industry body looks forward to fairs

The commercial director of the Spanish Footwear Industry Federation (FICE, Javier García Lillo, has said that the country’s footwear manufacturers have taken heart from recent reports of some early signs of improvement for the beleagured economies of the European Union and are looking forward to the September footwear exhibitions with a degree of optimism.
There will be important footwear events across Europe, including GDS in Düsseldorf, Micam in Milan and Modacalzado in Madrid.
Mr García Lillo told local media: “It's always hard to talk about expectations and to make predictions, but there is optimism in the build-up to these important events. The most important thing of all is that visitor numbers at these fairs. That would show that there is interest among the potential buyers.”
