Chile sees exports fall

The footwear and leather sectors were among the worst affected in a list of industries in Chile that suffered a sharp drop in export revenues in the first half of 2009.

In total over the six-month period, exports of manufactured products brought in almost $3.2 billion in revenues, a drop of 20.8% compared to the same period in 2008.

Footwear and leather experienced a fall of 32.7%.
