Ethiopia plans to increase shoe exports to US

28/08/2009

Ethiopia is hoping to increase its leather shoe exports to the US under a special export promotion programme launched by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) Agribusiness and Trade Expansion Program.

Industry representatives from the US have visited the African country in order to evaluate the opportunities available to them and discussed the options with a number of US buyers.

During the visits, a number of factories were inspected in order to ensure they met tough US standards.
