Nike has announced that its general manager in the UK and Ireland, Jim Allaker, will take over as the new chief executive and president of Umbro, replacing Matthew Cook, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Marc Van Pappelendam will move from his position as head of Nike's business in eastern and central Europe to take up the UK and Ireland role, which Mr Allaker has held since 2006.
Mr Allaker has been with Nike for 21 years, holding positions in finance and operations at headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and in Europe.
Nike said it expected Umbro, a brand it acquired in February 2008, to grow around the world.
