FDDI and ARSutoria sign MoU

India’s Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Italy’s Ars Sutoria shoe and bag school, located in Milan.

The two institutions hope the agreement, signed on August 5, will help promote education, research and development. They will host joint conferences, educational events and trend forums. There will also be a student and academic staff exchange programme.

FDDI’s managing director, Rajeev Lakhara, and secretary, Shashi Bhushan Shukla, were joined by Ars Sutoria managing director, Matteo Pasca, for the signing of the MoU.

Mr Lakhara said: “FDDI is in expansion mode in all spheres of design and technology and in its continuous efforts to maintain at par with international standards we are collaborating with Ars Sutoria for mutual cooperation and growth.”
Mr Pasca hopes the agreement will bring “revolutionary change to the international leather sector in the area of design. He visited FDDI’s pilot plant, library, classrooms and computer cluster. He said he was highly impressed with the institute’s vision and facilities.
