Colombian and Brazilian associations work together
29/07/2009
Brazil's Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal) and the Colombian Association of Leather and Footwear Industries (Acicam) have announced that they will work together at the forthcoming Bogotá International Footwear and Leather Show (IFLS) to present functional footwear.
This special display at the exhibition, which runs in the Colombian capital from August 4-6, is called the Colombia Comfort Project. It aims to convince Colombian footwear brands involved in functional footwear that they can rely on Brazilian components to build the required comfort and ergonomics into their designs.
The vice-president of Assintecal’s overseas marketing department, Evandro Kunst, said in the build-up to the event that the project had allowed footwear components manufacturers in Brazil to build up relationships with one of the country's main business partners.
The project started at Couromoda in January 2009, for which Colombian footwear entrepreneurs travelled to São Paulo to discuss comfort footwear with Assintecal members.
