Shoe exports from Wenzhou to the US up by 42%

The authorities in Wenzhou in eastern China have said that exports of shoes from there to the US increased by 42% in the first half of the year to reach a value of $93.8 million.

Customs statistics at the port of Wenzhou show that, overall, the value of goods exported from there during the six-month period fell by 12.9% to $4.8 billion, but they also make it clear that shoes constitute the most valuable exports.
