Sandal-maker to the stars dies

Capri-based footwear artisan Costanzo Ruocco has died after a long illness.
Mr Ruocco, who ran a famous workshop on Via Roma on the island, made a name for himself by becoming the sandal-maker of choice for many of the famous people who had homes or spent holidays on Capri, including Clark Gable, Sophia Loren, Jackie Onassis and Brigitte Bardot.
