Rieker makes UK and Ireland appointments

Family-owned German footwear manufacturer Rieker has appointed two new key members to its management team to run the business in the UK and Ireland.
Chris Gorrod, managing director, and James Podmore, sales manager, will aim to build on the business that Rieker has already established in these markets over the last few years.
Chris Gorrod has been with the Rieker Group since 1998. His last seven years have been in a senior managerial role with Rieker Shoe Group in North America. His career has also included spells at John Wilkes footwear and Kookaburra Sport.
At the time of the announcement of his appointment as managing director, he commented: “Rieker is a company with huge potential and a fantastic product. It has grown to be one of the world’s leading comfort footwear manufacturers. It is my plan to continue to lead the growth that Rieker has had in the market over the past few years and to develop new and existing partnerships with our customers.”
New sales manager, James Podmore, has management experience at several household names including Aquascutum, Clarks and Timberland. He said: “I am looking forward to working closely with Rieker’s extensive customer base to ensure the continued success of this fantastic brand.”
