PIFS proves successful for Azerbaijani delegation

Footwear importers of Azerbaijan booked more than $100,000 worth of shoes at the eleventh Pakistan International Footwear Show PIFS 2009 (formerly Juft) held on June 27 and 28 in Lahore.
The event was organised by the Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) and sponsored by the government's Trade Development Authority.
A member of the Azerbaijani delegation, Ms Afag Mammadli, of footwear retail company M/s Angel Ltd, told footwearbiz.com that she found footwear imports from Pakistan to be competitive and good in quality.
She added that her government may set up an agency in Karachi to make it safer, easier, cheaper and faster for companies such as hers to import footwear from Pakistan.
At the end of PIFS 2009, the Azerbaijani delegation was preparing to visit a number of footwear factories in Pakistan.
