Pakistani firms pleased with Guangzhou orders
According to the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) Shoe and Leather Guangzhou (June 2-4) was a success in terms of orders taken. The PTA claims business worth $10 million was concluded by Pakistani companies and that other inquiries are in the pipeline.
The association’s chairman, Agha Saiddain, said that a large number of foreign buyers from a range of countries visited the Pakistan pavilion including visitors from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy, Malaysia, Turkey, Germany, Korea, Spain, Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam and the US. The pavilion comprised 18 stands covering a space of 231 square-metres.
Mr Saiddain said China has become an important marketplace for Pakistani companies producing finished leather for shoes, garments and leathergoods.
