The 28th International Footwear Conference (IFC) took place on June 3 in Guangzhou, coinciding with the Guangzhou international shoe fair.

Each of the 12 IFC members from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam attended the meeting. A number of delegates from Japan attended the event, along with representatives from national footwear associations.

The meeting focused on developments with the global footwear industry and its prospects for the future. It also explored various possible manufacturing strategies and available technologies as well as covering energy issues and environmental protection.
