Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited launched a new website on May 26, to coincide with the 90th anniversary of research and technology centre SATRA’s first AGM.

The new site, www.northamptonshireleather.com, is designed to celebrate and reinforce Northamptonshire as an important centre for leather and footwear and to promote its services to overseas companies.

According to Paul Southworth, chair of Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited: “Northamptonshire has an extremely long connection with the production of footwear, leather and leathergoods. It is important that there is a place which celebrates Northamptonshire’s leather heritage and brings together the industry and the businesses that still thrive in the county today.”

The website launch took place at SATRA’s headquarters in Kettering and included speeches from industry experts Ian Michel (Amandian), Mike Redwood (Leather Conservation Centre/Museum of Leathercraft), Mark Wilkinson (British School of Leather Technology) and Richard Turner (SATRA).
