Crocs introduces recovery footwear line

27/04/2009

Crocs has launched its new Prepair Collection, a new technical footwear line designed to help athletes recover following athletic or fitness activity.

Athletic recovery has long been recognised as an integral part of training and competition by allowing the body time to repair and strengthen itself. In line with this, the new shoe collection is specifically designed to improve recovery time for recreational and professional athletes alike.

“The Prepair Recovery Collection is a natural progression for us as we continue to expand our product lines and target active consumers,” said Doug Hayes, vice president of Crocs North America.

The line uses nano-silver technology with Croslite Ag, a Croslite material formulation that features an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal silver additive that helps to keep feet healthy. The material has been examined and tested by various footwear testing facilities including the US Ergonomics and the Michigan State Biomechanics Lab. The results show that the line offers comfort, health and recovery benefits, including notable reduction in peak muscular effort and peak pressures which relieve strain on the musculoskeletal system.

The Prepair Collection has been approved as the official recovery shoe for the Road Runners Club of America, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and Hockey Canada, and has received certification from US Ergonomics. Several athletes including Matty Reed, 2008 US Olympic triathlete, have endorsed the recovery footwear.
