Footwear exports rise
According to Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics, the country’s March footwear exports rose 6.1% to $13.1 million compared with $12.4 million in February.
Between July 2008 and March 2009, the country exported 10.8 million pairs of footwear worth $97.6 million (including leather footwear worth $79.4 million, canvas footwear worth $0.2 million and other footwear worth $17.2 million). This marks a 13.80% rise compared with shoe exports totalling 9.7 million pairs at a value of $85.8 million in the same period a year ago.
