Double-digit revenue growth at Geox
Italy-based classic and casual footwear manufacturer Geox has posted positive results for 2008.
Sales rose 16% (17% at constant exchange rates) in 2008 to €892.5 million. Footwear sales represented 91% of consolidated sales, amounting to €808.4 million, a 13% increase compared with 2007.
Europe generated 45% of sales compared with 47% in 2007. Sales for the region totalled €404.3 million, a 12% increase. North America reported an 28% increase in sales and the rest of the world reported a 38% sales increase.
Mario Moretti Polegato, chairman and founder of Geox, said: “Once again in 2008, Geox revenues grew double digit, closing the year with a 17% increase, an excellent performance considering the drastic contraction in consumer spending worldwide.”
