Conference to strengthen links between Europe and Brazil
An international conference jointly promoted by UK-based BLC Leather Technology Centre, the Brazilian Association of Leather, Footwear and Leathergoods Components (Assintecal) and the Brazilian Association of Leather Technicians and Chemists (ABQTIC). The aim is to promote the exchange information between Brazil and Europe.
The two-part event, which is being organised in partnership with the European Union and with the support of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI), is to take place from April 27-30 and from May 4-7. It will run at ABQTIC's auditorium in Estância Velha.
According to Diego Baisch, Assintecal's internationalisation manager, the conference came about because of requests from chemical product suppliers belonging to Assintecal. “Through regular visits to such companies we have noticed that they require legal and technological information from the EU,” Mr Baisch said.
The first half of the event will deal with 'Safety and Sustainability'. During the second half, BLC specialists will focus on 'Leather Technology and Finishing'.
Participating companies will be able to request visits from BLC specialists to their own premises through Assintecal.
