Skechers sets up in Chile

Casual footwear brand Skechers announced on March 26 that it has established a new subsidiary in Chile. The new venture, Skechers Chile, will serve as a distribution base for the brand for the whole of South America.

Skechers Chile will be lead by Santiago Polanco and Cristian Donghi, who were already in charge of distributing Skechers shoes there through a previous agreement.

“Chile has become an essential component to our Latin American strategy,” said company president, Michael Greenberg, on making the announcement. “It will complement our growing business in Brazil through a recently established subsidiary there, along with our sales across many Central and South American countries, which are handled by a distributor based in Panama.”
